MARGARET THATCHER

SPITTING IMAGE PUPPET RESTORATION

 

This is an original Margaret Thatcher Spitting Image puppet head which came to me from The National Puppetry Archive collection.

 

The puppet head was in a pretty terrible state before being rescued by Michael. She had been exposed to a lot of direct sunlight which is the worst conditions for these puppets.

I restored Mrs Thatcher to be sympathetic to its authentic condition, maintaining the original features and paint work and ageing the restored areas appropriately.
